While several other states of the nation have laws that require training through apprenticeship programs and require fire sprinkler fitters to be licensed or registered to install fire sprinklers and other fire extinguishing systems, New York does not.  S-6761 will protect New York citizens and firefighters from those not having the skill or training to install fire sprinklers, but who are currently doing so.
